### If we already have an MCP server, can we connect LinearB to the existing one?

Yes, you can use the LinearB MCP with any other MCP server you use on your preferred client (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, etc.)

### Does the MCP only get data from Git? Can we make it check Jira?

Yes, Lead Time is supported based on PM tool info. We are actively working on covering more Project info.

### How can I leverage MCP to output a consistent dashboard?

Yes! You can create custom agents to build and deliver custom reports to your Slack. (Note that we have a library of pre-made prompts). It is also worth noting that numbers and data outputs from the MCP, like any generative AI output, should be double-checked as they may contain errors. To ensure accuracy, we recommend reproducing the numbers in the UI Dashboard before using any MCP-generated numbers for critical decisions.

### Does role-based access apply to MCP? For example, if I’m not able to see individual metrics in LinearB, does that translate to my Claude instance or not?

There is currently no permissions-scoped access for MCP. However, this is on our roadmap and is actively being worked on. 

### Does LinearB’s MCP work with GitLab, GitHub, BitBucket, and JIRA?

Yes, all Git providers and PM tools supported by LinearB are MCP-enabled.
